The first week...

We thought it was about time to update you a bit more than "We've arrived!". We've had a whirlwind week & are excited to begin week number two. Some of our highlights include...

- taking public transit (2 trains, a ferry, and some walking) from the airport to our apartment
- walking by the Marmara seaside together (we've NEVER seen so many ships in one place!)
- fresh bread almost everyday
- getting to meet new friends, both Turkish & other foreigners
- drinking Turkish tea with our new friends
- beginning to learn Turkish (and actually understanding a few things sometimes!)
- the wonderful apartment we're staying in
- playing Connect 4 A LOT with the 3 little girls that we were staying with last week
- visiting the 2nd biggest market in Istanbul, which is located in our little city area. We bought lots of great fresh fruit & veggies!
- Sleeping quite a bit to recover from jet lag, I think we're just about adjusted!
- Skype-ing with our parents.

The only picture we have so far is the view off our front balcony... it's amazing!
